30th May 2025 - Free Flow – how the Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership is collaboratively tackling barriers at a regional scale

In May 2025, the Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership was approached to feature on the Dam Removal Europe website. In our article, we introduce the project and also discuss the catchment challenge, as well as the role barrier removal is playing for our rivers in Yorkshire.

The article has been a wonderful opportunity to not only introduce the project to a wider audience but it has also allowed us to share some of our first project case studies, including the partial weir removal at Stocksbridge Weir on the River Donn and the removal of a small weir on the Black Brook, at Greetland, near Halifax.
