Opening the way for nature
2025 has seen the Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership move forward with great pace. The Partnership opened its first window to access funding from the £12,197,469.57 core project funding in May 2025.
Great Yorkshire Rivers partnership enters next phase in river health and restoration.
Great Yorkshire Rivers(GYR) - a partnership between Yorkshire Water, the Environment Agencyand The Rivers Trust– starts its next phase of funding of over £21 million investment to support river health and fish migration and open up over 500km of Yorkshire rivers.
Yorkshire Water supports Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership with £3.4m following the conclusion of Ofwat investigation.
In March 2025 Ofwat announced that following its investigation into Yorkshire Water’s wastewater treatment works and networks, a £40m redress package will be invested in Yorkshire.
