Great Yorkshire Rivers (GYR) has made three full-time appointments to help the organisation in the delivery of its mission to remove barriers to fish passage, recover native fish species and improve river quality.

Great Yorkshire Rivers(GYR) - a partnership between Yorkshire Water, the Environment Agencyand The Rivers Trust– starts its next phase of funding of over £21 million investment to support river health and fish migration and open up over 500km of Yorkshire rivers.

In March 2025 Ofwat announced that following its investigation into Yorkshire Water’s wastewater treatment works and networks, a £40m redress package will be invested in Yorkshire.
